Alberto De Leon

I'm Alberto de Leon Inglewood, an Elementary School Principal.

Alberto de Leon's Bio:

Alberto de Leon is an Elementary School Principal skilled in Classroom Management, Lesson Planning, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, and Curriculum Development. For the past twenty-one years, Alberto de Leon had the privilege to serve a diverse student population of various socio-economic status and ethnicity, while working as a teacher, assistant principal, and a school principal. I have always measured my success by the achievements and accomplishments of my students. As such, Alberto de Leon have worked towards 21st Century learning goals for all students where elementary children engaged in coding robots, creating and completing challenges and meeting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) requirements for technology and engineering. Training teachers to enhance student engagement in the use of technology and redefining learning tasks, I presented teachers with professional development that is pedagogically geared towards the integration of both models the Technology Pedagogy and Content Knowledge (TPACK), and Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition (SAMR). Through dialectical discourse and hands-on activities teachers engaged in redesigning tasks that are both creative and communicative, challenging, and empowering students beyond the limits of the classroom. Hence, creating a learning community of outstanding teachers, supportive parents, dedicated staff, and working jointly for the welfare of the students has been key to my success as a school leader. The challenges and responsibilities of being a principal of an elementary school are equally intriguing and enticing since they enable me a major opportunity to learn, grow and serve.
